irony

Irony mean when the unexpected happens without us seeing it come. Irony happens a lot in life whether we plan it or you don't, It even happens in stories that we have read perhaps when we were younger. Sometimes in life we expect to much of anything and its not good to expect anything from anything or anyone because we dont know what can happen. For example when a student in school barley comes to school and doesnt do much work , they expect to get passed but they shouldnt because they didn't prove they deserved to pass on the other hand a sudent that does all their work , comes to school , and doesnt pass is an ironic thing because they deserved to pass. Irony happens in life, movies, books, plays.

In the story about Richard Cory by Edwin Arlington Robinson the story talks about how this guy Richard is such a nice gentle man and he is rich , he looked as normal as anyone he was schooled and one day Richard shot him self in he head, this is ironic for someone to look so normal , have money and look decent, to do something like this no one could expect for this to happen. This last line is such a surprise because the story dint mention any problems that Richard could have or if he was unhappy it just mention nice things about him. People in the town envied him because he was full of good things and he didnt go about like any regular person. This poem informs us differently then a newspaper by describing him to us in a way that we would think we are learning his biography or a short part of his life in detail and a newspaper informs us by just telling us what he did and how he did it , it doesnt really mention much about the person. The tone of this story is very low and in the end it goes higher it surprises us with a big shock. The point of view in which this story is taking place is by a narrator.
